This will enhance the durability, service factor, and valuable life of the Nuwave air fryer with min resource utilization & that too in the shortest possible time.

Regular clean-up of the Nuwave air fryer

By the term ‘regular clean-up of the device,’ it is meant that the end user shall adopt predefined discrete steps once the Nuwave air fryer is used for air frying.

Disclaimer: Regular clean-up is advised when the Nuwave Air fryer is used for non-greasy and non-sticky food ingredients. Like veggies, French fries, Pizza, spring rolls, etc.

Steps to follow for regular clean-up of the Nuwave air fryer;

Step 01 – (Turn off the Device)

The first step is to turn off the device and remove the electrical cord from the power source to ensure the device is safe to handle for cleaning.

Note: The device must be left for cooling when you opt to proceed with the cleaning steps.

Step 02: (Remove the Basket)

Remove the lower portion of the device containing the basket/grill of the air fryer. This shall be placed in the dishwasher or sink.

Recall this portion of the air fryer shouldn’t contain any electrical connections except for the end contacts.

Step 03: (Remove the Grill)

Remove the grill from the basket.

Remember, Nuwave air fryers are coated with a non-stick ceramic coating that ensures 90% of the food grains/oil are separated. However, the rest of the 10% needs attention for timely cleaning.

Step 04: (Pour Tap Water)

Pour tap water on the grill and the food basket. This will separate the free food grains or any residual oil.

Step 05: (Ensure to Dry the Air Fryer)

Dry the food basket and the grill with a cloth and air dry them if possible, with an air blower or keep them under the sunlight for half an hour.

PRO-TIP:
To get rid of excessive internal cleaning, use parchment papers or liners. They are inexpensive, hygienic, and easy to place and remove from the air fryers.

Deep cleaning of the Nuwave air fryer

By the term ‘Deep cleaning of the device’, it is meant that the end user adopts a thorough cleaning process, where detailed inspection & clean up of the Nuwave air fryer takes place.

Disclaimer: Deep cleanup is advised in situations when the Nuwave Air fryer is either used for a longer duration or greasy and sticky food ingredients are processed. Like beacons, meatballs, sausages, etc

Steps to follow for deep cleanup of the Nuwave air fryer;

Step 01: (Leave the Device Open for Cooling)

When you proceed with the cleaning steps, the device must be left for cooling. This is done to avoid ceramic chipping off due to temperature differences (Quenching phenomenon).

Now turn off the device and remove the electrical cord from the power source to ensure the device is safe to go through the deep cleaning process.

Step 02: (Dismantle the Device)

Dismantle the Nuwave air fryer with both the power side (containing heater, fan, electronic circuitry, controls, etc) and the food side of the device.

Both units are equally critical and should be thoroughly cleaned to ensure a longer duration of uninterrupted operation.

Important note: The power side of the air fryer shall be kept away from water to avoid its ingress into the electronic circuitry of the product.

Step 03: (Perform External Cleaning)

Externally clean the Nuwave air fryer with a semi-wet cloth. Ensure the vents are adequately inspected & cleaned. No clogging is advised to be left unattended while deep cleaning the Nuwave air fryer.

All buttons, knobs & displays shall be inspected and thoroughly cleaned for any undesired material deposition.

Internally inspect the heating element and use dishwashing liquid or soap on a wet cloth to thoroughly apply to the element & clean it. You can use a dispensed toothbrush to do the needful more thoroughly and within a limited period.

The Fan may not be accessible in most Nuwave air fryers. Therefore, the use of a brush sleek enough to pass through the heating element will help easily clean up the fan. Remember to apply liquid soap and a few drops of water.

Ensure the device is kept in the normal position and not upside down (to avoid ingress moisture or drops of water / liquid soap).

Step 04: (Pour Hot Water)

Nuwave air fryers are coated with a non-stick ceramic coating that ensures food grains/oil are separated. However, the device can take an undesired deposition on the internals in the case of beacons, meatballs, and sausage processing. Remove the grill from the food basket.

Pour hot water up to 70 °C on the grill and the food basket, along with dishwashing liquid. This will separate the free food grains, fats or greasy substances.

Gently rub the internals to avoid damage to the ceramic coating with a sponge or soft cotton cloth.

Step 05: (Ensure to Dry)

Thoroughly ensure the dryness of both units by placing them in front of the sun or airdry via an air blower.

This step will ensure the proper removal of moisture and any foreign particles/bacteria.

Extensive cleaning and preventive measures

‘Extensive cleaning & PM’ of a Nuwave air fryer shall be carried out once every 06 Months when the device is in daily use. Otherwise, it can be performed on 12 Months’ frequency based on less frequent usage of the device.

The following steps shall be carried out to ensure Extensive cleaning & PM measurement on a Nuwave Air fryer.

Step 01: (Leave for Natural Cooling)

The device must be left for cooling when you proceed with the extensive cleaning steps. This is done to avoid ceramic chipping off due to temperature differences (Quenching phenomenon).

Now turn off the device and remove the electrical cord from the power source to ensure the device is safe to go through the deep cleaning process.

You are advised to go through the air fryer manual for extensive PM guidelines.

Step 02: (Inspect)

You can use a dispensed toothbrush to do the needful more thoroughly within a limited period.

A degreaser shall be used to get rid of undesired sticky substances

The Fan may not be accessible in most Nuwave air fryers. Therefore, the use of a brush sleek enough to pass through the heating element will help easily clean up the fan. Remember to apply liquid soap and a few drops of water.

Ensure the device is kept in the normal position and not upside down (to avoid ingress moisture or drops of water / liquid soap).

Step 04: (Thorough examination/Remedial action)

Check the device assembly and contact of the food basket with the power unit. The contacts ensure the device is ready to operate and part of the permissive to start the air fryer.

If there is an issue with the contacts, they shall be replaced to avoid undue stoppages.

The lock mechanism shall also be replaced if it fails to hold the food basket and the power side together.

Step 05: (Pour Hot Water / Ensure Dryness)

Pour hot water up to 70 °C on the grill and the food basket, along with dishwashing liquid. This will separate the free food grains, fats, or greasy substances.

Gently rub the internals to avoid damage to the ceramic coating with a sponge or soft cotton cloth.

Thoroughly ensure the dryness of both units by placing them in front of the sun or airdry via an air blower.

This step will ensure the proper removal of moisture and any foreign particles/bacteria.

PRO-TIP:
To get rid of excessive internal cleaning, use parchment papers or liners. They are inexpensive, hygienic, and easy to place and remove from the air fryers.
